This morning I thanked Margaret for her care of her dad and
me. It is wonderful to have the care of
a family, and medical care. Today I made
appointments with three doctors for my knee, shoulder, stomach, etc. The doctors were able to see me right away.
Yet millions of people around the world have no access to medical care.
Helen is a resident of the home where Dad Jespersen
lives. Tonight we are having a birthday
party for her. She can’t speak, she
knows little of what is happening, has no family, no money, and her only
friends are Dad, Margaret, and I who visit her almost daily.
The Christian owners of the care facility continue to care
for her even though her funds are very limited and do not pay her
expenses. They are caring for her at a financial
loss simply because they are Christians who care for the elderly!
Pray for Helen and others like her who are neglected, alone,
no family, and no friends. Pray that the love of Christ would be manifested to
them in some way through His people.
"And if you
give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your
light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday. And the Lord will continually guide you and
satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; and
you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do
not fail" (Isaiah 58:10- 11, nasb).
