The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way, and the perverted mouth, I hate (Proverbs 8:13).
The one who fears (honors) the Lord in this context is one who is wise; not a fool. The characteristics of one who fears the Lord is one who hates evil, pride, arrogance and perverse speech. A prayer today could be, “Oh Lord, help me to turn from evil; to trust you for humility and to be extremely careful of my speech, that my life and lips will bring glory to you.”
